The Nerve Centre will play host to some of the best of Derry’s music scene, with a night of Blues Funk’N Soul with a fundraising night for AWARE NI on Saturday 1st December
The evening will celebrate Derry’s unique culture of music, soul and art, kicking off with the Jack McHale Trio, introducing old school rhythm and blues with a slice of soul. Followed by McHales blistering guitar and high energy vocals, supported by classic Hammond organ and danceable beats.
Next up at the Blues Funk’N Soul gig, is the newly formed Funkitects with their debut gig featuring timeless soul and funk classics.
The Funkitects features an amazing line up of Derry’s finest musicians, including Meilana Gillard, John Leighton, Joseph Leighton, Rowan Armstrong and Mark O Doherty.
Finally, enjoy the hedonistic beats of DJ Kwame - the man behind Bounce Culture (Music Education Organisation) which emerged from the Soul, Blues and Funk filled nights in Sandino’s 1999.
The vibes need to be felt to be believed.
AWARE are a Derry born Depression Charity, which now has two offices; one in locally and a second office in Belfast. They have also established a network of 25 support groups in rural and urban areas across the country, which are run by trained volunteers, delivering mental health and well-being programmes into communities, schools, colleges, universities and workplaces.
