The Playhouse played host to Paul Casey on Saturday night where he treated the local audience to songs old and new.
Joined on stage by Karen Porter on cello and Martin Barr on acoustic guitar, the two complemented Paul’s warm distinctive voice and the sound was impeccable.
With the release of his latest album ‘After the Harvest’ at the end of last month, it was a perfect opportunity for his fans to hear the tracks live for the first time, and they were not disappointed.
‘After the Harvest’ has taken up from where his previous album ‘Somebody I’m Not’ had left off, with it’s catchy tracks and excellent song writing. From old tracks such as ‘Far’ to new track’s ‘Under the Moon’ every single song went down a storm.
Playing in front of a packed hall the setting was intimate and the atmosphere relaxed. With Paul engaging as always, he encouraged crowd participation throughout with his warm personality coming through in abundance. Even staying late after his show to chat casually with fans and sign copies of his new album, it’s very easy to see just why Paul is loved in his home town.
