INTERVIEW: Turn It Up with Louise DaCosta

Ireland’s Number One Female DJ returns with a new track

Ireland’s Number One Female DJ, Louise DaCosta will be turning it up this summer with the release of her new track.

‘Turn It Up’ is set drop this month and will feature on Zulu Records’ prestigious ‘Ibiza Album’. “It’s really just a an all out party tune” the local DJ said when we caught up with her to get the lowdown on the new track.

“It’s a step up from my previous tracks in terms of energy. I wanted to do something a bit more up tempo for a summer release. I suppose if it was likened to a sound it would be like a Tujamo kind of style.”

Louise is looking forward to unleashing the new track and hearing the reaction from her fans. “It’s being released on Zulu Ibiza Album which I‘m quite delighted about” she said.

“Like any release I hope to see it do well, Id quite like another Top 20 or even Top 10 in the charts, but it just depends how well it clicks with new and existing fans. I’ve had lots of radio play on it both nationally and internationally so that’s been really positive.

“It drops later this month so keep your eyes on my page for release dates across various platforms. I also have a couple of remixes and several new releases on different labels set for this summer too. In August my brand new Full Tilt release drops, again it’s another big room House track with lots of energy and summer vibes.”

Besides producing tracks for Full Tilt, the local DJ is also heavily involved in the label as she explains: “I’ve joined the award winning globally renowned Full Tilt Recordings so if any of your readers are aspiring producers, get in touch because we're now accepting demos.

“We are based in Letterkenny and have one of the country's best professional studios, offering a multitude of recording and production services. If anyone would would like more info or to submit demos, they can hit me up at  louise@fulltiltrecordings.ie.”

When not in the studio, the hard working DJ spends much of her time on the road. “Schedule is seriously hectic at the moment” she said.

“I’m just back from Summer Event in Tipperary then off to a festival in the Midlands. I also have dates coming up in Ibiza, the Middle East and Asia this year and I’m currently in talks with a massive brand about bringing a big international dance event to Derry. Keep an eye on my Facebook and Instagram for upcoming dates and events.”

And her must have travel accessory for all those miles clocked up? “Raybans” she laughs. “Sunglasses are my absolute travel essentials. Late nights and early mornings, a decent pair of shades hide a multitude of sins.’

Turn It Up will be released on Zulu Records on Monday 31st July. Check out Facebook for more info on the local DJ's new release.
