Following the success of last season’s Derry series, the Ulster Orchestra returns to the North-West for an exciting run of concerts in the Millennium Forum and Guildhall starting on Thursday October 3rd.
On Your Doorstep is a very special opportunity to catch a full symphony orchestra in the intimate surroundings of your local arts theatre. It’s hard to truly capture the power and effect of live orchestral music until you attend a show in person, and this programme strives to bring the Ulster Orchestra’s passion and magic right across Northern Ireland.
The local series starts with the wonderful Songs of Love and Loss in the Guildhall, featuring Principal Guest Conductor Jac van Steen and world-renowned Soprano Christianne Stotjin. Friday 13th December will see the Orchestra joined by the excellent Codetta for Handel’s Messiah, also in the Guildhall.
The holiday season is in full swing by Wednesday 18th December, so join come along and join the Ulster Orchestra in the Millennium Forum for all your festive favourites with their perennially popular Magic of Christmas concert. 2020 kicks off in style on Sunday 5th January with a glittering tribute to the magic of the 19th century Vienna ballrooms in A Night in Vienna!
The Ulster Orchestra's new Chief Conductor Daniele Rustioni makes his Derry debut on Thursday 13th February alongside his wife, famed concert violinist Francesca Dego for a night of romantic Music for Valentine’s. Daniele will then be bringing the series to a close on Thursday 14th May with the fabulous Chopin and Bruckner, featuring acclaimed pianist Benjamin Grosvenor.
