A new release has just dropped from Derry’s award winning DJ, Louise DaCosta.
‘All I Want’ is the latest track from ‘Ireland’s Number One Female DJ’ and has made it onto the five track ‘Amsterdam 2016’ EP from Zulu Records.
The UK label is run by House heavy weights ‘My Digital Enemy’ who are no strangers to commercial success having previously had UK charting tracks, one of which reached the number 3 spot in 2005.
Over the years Zulu Records have gained support from industry names including Pete Tong, Annie Mac, Duke Dumont, Danny Howard, Fedde Le Grand, Fatboy Slim to name a few.
This year’s Amsterdam EP contains tracks from the guys themselves, My Digital Enemy, as well as Alex Seda & Dave Rose, Roberto Stecini, Tengu and of course Derry’s very own, Louise DaCosta.
We thought it was about time we caught up with Louise to get the low-down on the new track and also to find out what’s been happening since we last spoke.
So, where does the title of the track, ‘All I Want’ come from?
The title really embodies the concept of the track. You're readers will have to listen to the full song to get the jist obviously! lol
What’s the one thing Louise DaCosta wants most?
Calorie free champagne! Only joking!
Honestly just to keep on setting and achieving my goals, in terms of career progression and beyond. As a female working in a male dominated industry, I find myself even more motivated to realise my ambitions. I think it's particularly important at the moment that women do actualise their potential and be role models for the younger generation coming through.
What’s your Inspiration for the track?
The concept is basically unrequited love, bounced off a bass heavy mainroom house track.
I'll not go into the exact details, but I was discussing with some friends and it was a recurring theme. It's a feeling that a lot of people share, but don't discuss. Musically its’ a future house/bass house kind of vibe, slightly different direction from my last release.

‘All I Want’ is on the new Zulu Records Amsterdam 2016 EP, how did that come about?
Well basically one of the lovely guys from My Digital Enemy runs Zulu, they remixed my last release and asked me to send something on to them. Sure enough they snapped up the first track I sent them for their Amsterdam EP!
I was delighted to say the least. The track and the EP has received great support from some of the biggest DJs, Record Labels & Radio shows.
What’s been the highlight for you so far this year?
The years not over yet! There's been loads so far to be honest. In terms of music I've had two releases on cracking labels and have released my own remixes which have been supported by Warner, Spinnin’ Records and Armada artists. I've played to some fantastic crowds at home and abroad this year too! Playing one of Asia's best clubs last month was major fun. I've a few more releases and remixes before the year is out that I'm really excited about, and I'll be touring out East in december as well as the Christmas tour in Ireland. Lots to be thankful for and lots to look forward to.
Any plans for a local gig?
Considering we have the biggest Halloween estival in the world I might be popping up on the 31st October, but can't say too much just yet.
I'll also be touring irish dates at christmas so keep your eyes on my page for details of that.
